Setup

Connecting to VoxNow’s VoIP network is easy. You will first need a SIP compatible IP phone. We offer a wide range of phones here. If you want to get started immediately, you can download a soft phone, like X-ten while you wait for your hard phone to arrive.

Overview

  1. Follow the instructions to configure the phone and/or soft phone you are using. Once configured, you should be able to pick up the handset and get a dial tone. This would indicate that the phone is successfully configured and registered with the network.
  2. Your first call should be to the Echo test server. Dial 600. You should hear an explanation of what the echo test is and then a beep. Everything you say will then be repeated back to you as soon as it is received. If you can hear yourself, then you know that your setup is complete.

Configuration

For soft phone configuration, please choose one from here and follow the instructions from the soft phone’s details page.

For other devices such as IP phones, we cannot provide step-by-step guides for every single model. Please follow the instructions from the user manual delivered with the device and use the settings below. Do only update the device’s default settings with the ones below and do not change any other information.

  1. Follow the manual instructions on how to connect the device to your local network.
  2. It is advised to reset the device settings to factory status. Refer to the user manual for this.
  3. Most phones can be configured via web browser. Refer to the device’s user manual on how to check its default IP address and use a web browser to access the device’s control panel (http://[ip_address])
