What does “VoIP” mean?
VoIP is an acronym for “Voice over Internet Protocol”.
It is used to generalize the process by which sound (like a person’s voice) is converted into data packets and transmitted over the Internet, bypassing the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).

What does “PSTN” mean?
PSTN is an acronym for “Public Switched Telephone Network”.
It is the traditional telephone system that the world has been using for decades to make phone calls. In order to access the PSTN from your IP Phone (UA), you need to use a “bridge” between VoIP and PSTN.

What is NAT?
NAT stands for Network Address Translation. This is a form of firewall that makes opening channels to phones inside it difficult. Our service will work seamlessly whether you are behind a firewall or not.

What is broadband?
Broadband is typically considered anything faster than a dial-up modem connection. Examples would be: DSL, Cable modem, ISDN, T1.

What is a SIP phone?
SIP stands for Session Internet Protocol. It is a very common standard for setting up calls between devices. VoxNow uses SIP IP phones.
